4 Hands Games has just announced the release of Tormentis, an action RPG that is available Android and PC. Following its release in Early Access on Steam earlier this year, the studio brings the classic dungeon crawling adventure with strategic dungeon building to mobile as a free-to-play experience with optional upgrades.
Tormentis is slightly different from others in the genre because you’re not only exploring dungeons but are designing them too. Your task is to create an intricate labyrinth filled with traps, monsters, and surprises to protect your treasures from other adventurers. At the same time, you’ll venture into other players’ dungeons, battling through their defences to claim rewards.
You step into the battle with your hero, whose equipment will determine your approach. With loot collected from your previous conquests, you can equip powerful gear that unlocks specific abilities. Any items you don’t need can be traded with other adventurers through an auction house or direct barter as well.
The dungeon-building side of Tormentis lets you flex your creativity. Link rooms, place traps, and train your defenders to make your fortress as challenging as possible. But you can’t just create the perfect death trap and get away with it. The catch is that you’ll need to complete your own dungeon before unleashing it on opponents in order to ensure it’s as effective as it looks.

Unlike its PC counterpart, which has a one-time purchase model, the mobile version is free-to-play but with ads.
