How to ramp like Sam
We didn’t see it from him in that second innings, but we asked experienced T20 coach Simon Helmot how to play the ramp shot like Sam Konstas.
Put on a helmet and follow these steps in the backyard or at the beach, and read the full guide here.
Khawaja sends Deep … deep
And now a boundary from Usman Khawaja – ripping pull shot, sending a short one from Akash Deep to the rope past square leg.
It certainly feels like India have lost a little bit of that early momentum Bumrah had given them.
Australia 1-36, lead by 137 runs – Khawaja 19*, Labuschagne 7*
Scoreboard is moving again
The scoreboard is finally moving again for Australia. Labuschagne and Khawaja have just taken eight runs off that Siraj over – clearly they’re feeling a little bit freer, now that Bumrah is chilling in the field.
And now we have the first drinks break of the session/day.
Australia 1-32, lead by 137 runs – Khawaja 15*, Labuschagne 7*
Siraj into the attack
Mohammed Siraj is now into the attack for India, replacing Bumrah, who has earned a break. What a spell from him. And what a relief for Australia’s batters. They’ll be thrilled to see that change, with all due respect to Siraj, who is holding a pretty new ball. He’s just put together a maiden, as well – the second in a row for the tourists.
Australia 1-23, lead by 128 runs – Khawaja 12*, Labuschagne 1*
Brettig on the task at hand for Australia
India continues to ask questions
Another near-miss for India. Akash Deep has just sent down a lovely delivery which got the edge of Labuschagne – but the ball falls just short of second slip. That’s a maiden.
Australia 1-23, lead by 128 runs – Khawaja 12*, Labuschagne 1*
Khawaja is under the pump
Jeez, Bumrah is absolutely killing it right now. He’s got this pill doing magic tricks. He’s also on 199 career Test wickets, so history beckons for him.
Twice in this over he’s had Usman Khawaja on toast, only marginally missing the edge. Torturous stuff for the Aussie batters to have to deal with. And they’re only just dealing with it.

Wu: Bumrah pressed on Konstas’ main weakness
Can India sniff an opportunity?
That’s changed the atmosphere at the MCG. The Indian fans are up and about – and why wouldn’t they be? Bumrah is on fire this morning and that wicket was thoroughly deserved. He’s got the ball moving both ways at the moment, with Marnus Labuschagne now at the crease and in the gun. The tourists will sense a real opportunity if they can keep this pressure on.
Australia 1-20, lead by 125 runs – Khawaja 10*, Labuschagne 0*
Konstas is gone!
Oh no. Sam Konstas has just been clean-bowled by Jasprit Bumrah, who lets rip with a big celebration! That one has seamed in and fizzed into middle stump.
The teenage sensation is gone for just 8 runs. Australia is reduced to 1-20, leading by 125 runs…
