Kim Ji Soo, aka Jisoo, is one of the biggest names in the South Korean entertainment industry. While she is best known for being one of the four members of the globally popular K-pop girl group, BLACKPINK, she has also made a name for herself as a soloist and an actress. With BLACKPINK on hiatus since 2023, Jisoo has shifted her focus to her acting career.

Newtopia
Based on Han Sang Woon’s novel Influenza, Newtopia will star Jisoo and Park Jeong Min as the lead couple, Kang Yeong Ju and Lee Jae Yoon, respectively. The drama follows the story of a soldier (Jeong Min) and his girlfriend (Jisoo) battling a zombie outbreak in Seoul, which suddenly spreads due to a flu.
Jae Yoon encounters the outbreak during his military service, while Jisoo’s character, an engineer, awaits his release. They fight the zombies separately and attempt to reunite after breaking up before the outbreak. Directed by Yoon Sung Hyun, the drama will premiere on February 7 on Coupang Play and Amazon Prime Video.
Boyfriend on Demand
Starring Jisoo and Seo In Guk, Boyfriend on Demand (previously titled Monthly Boyfriend) will explore the complexities of modern love and the influence of technology. The BLACKPINK star is set to portray Seo Mi Rae, a webtoon producer who desires to experience love without the usual drawbacks or risks. To achieve this, she joins a virtual dating simulation called Monthly Boyfriend, where she can date hundreds of men without getting emotionally attached or making any commitments.
Directed by Kim Jung Shik, this romantic comedy is scheduled for release later this year, though the exact date has not yet been confirmed.
Omniscient Reader: The Prophet
Jisoo is also set to make her movie debut alongside Korean acting powerhouses such as Ahn Hyo Seop, Lee Min Ho, and Chae Soo Bin, among others. Based on the webtoon Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint, the film will follow the story of Kim Dok Ja (Ahn Hyo Seop), an office worker who has devotedly read a novel titled, ‘Three Ways to Survive an Apocalypse,’ and is the only one who knows its ending.
When the fictional world suddenly comes to life, Yoo Joong Hyuk (Lee Min Ho) appears. Together, they must join forces to save the world, along with Joong Hyuk’s trainee, Lee Ji Hye (Jisoo). Directed by Kim Byung Woo, the film is scheduled for release in July.
