Amitabh Bachchan has been associated with the popular quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati since its inception in 2000 as the host, except for the third season, which Shah Rukh Khan hosted. The show became an instant hit among viewers due to its engaging format. KBC quickly became a viewer favourite, offering contestants a chance to win substantial prizes through their knowledge.
Talking to a contestant, he said, “When KBC first debuted, no one expected it to continue this long, yet it gradually caught everyone’s interest. This has been beneficial for us because we have learned a lot. Many individuals come here in sorrow; their lives change here.” He further added, “This show has changed people’s lives.”
The legendary actor and contestants often share heartfelt life anecdotes on Kaun Banega Crorepati, making the show a unique blend of knowledge and personal stories. In a recent episode, the stage was graced by iconic singers Shankar Mahadevan and Gurdas Maan, who appeared as special guests.
During a conversation with the Brahmastra actor, the Punjabi singer recalled a lovely memory of Amitabh’s daughter Shweta’s wedding, where he performed and received a special token of love from the megastar that he still treasures.
He said, “I feel a lot of love and respect today. I recall being in Delhi for Shweta’s wedding, where our group performed. He (Amitabh) stood in front of us. Following my performance, he presented me with a 500-rupee note. I still have the note with me.”
Listening to him, Shankar Mahadevan replied, “You performed at Shweta’s wedding and I performed at Abhishek’s (Bachchan) wedding.”
Meanwhile, talking about Big B’s filmography, he was last seen in the action thriller film Vettaiyyan alongside South superstar Rajinikanth and Fahadh Faasil. The film received decent responses from the fans.
He will be next seen in the courtroom drama film titled Section 84. Helmed by Ribhu Dasgupta, the film also features Abhishek Banerjee and Nimrit Kaur in the lead roles. The official release date of the film is yet to be announced.
