It has been a mild winter to date, but Ottawans were bundled up on Sunday as the temperature dropped to -13 C in the afternoon with the wind chill making if feel like about -19.
The forecast called for the temperature to fall to -18 C overnight and things are expected to remain brisk in the coming days. The highs are to be -11 C Monday (low -13 C), -9 C Tuesday (low -17 C), -12 C Wednesday (low -15 C) and -10 C Thursday (low -14 C).
Things should warm back up slightly by the weekend, with Environment Canada calling for a highs of -6 C on Friday and -7 C on Saturday, when there is a 40 per cent chance of snow. Nothing more than flurries are expected through the rest of the week.
