Canada, wake the hell up. Ukraine needs to be defended NOW. Any method is acceptable. Ukraine’s problem could become our reality. Put yourself in another pair of shoes. What if a nut-case President leading the U.S.A. wanted to take over Canada? Wouldn’t you want the international norm of countries respecting each other’s borders to be honoured? Nut-case Trump is normal for the U.S.A. He was elected by his peers. His values are America’s values.

Self-serving Grits
Liberal MPs knew Trudeau would have to resign and should have been looking for a replacement. However, once again, they have shown their irresponsibility by shutting down our government till March 24 and leaving our nation rudderless while picking a new leader. If polls are correct, no-matter who they pick, their reign will be short-lived during a time when Canada needs a strong leader at the helm to change the course of a failed economy, Trump’s possible 25% tariffs and tattered world standing.

No trust
The Liberal caucus is currently entertaining applications for the next leader and could have a campaign by March 1st. Some of those throwing their hat in the ring include Chrystia Freeland, Mark Carney and Christy Clark among others to be announced. I’m sure whoever the new leader is that they’ll make huge promises to reduce taxes and fix the economy. Weren’t they all complicit in the destruction of Canada over the last decade? Didn’t they all promote the destructive Carbon Tax? How can we believe their promises going forward? As the saying goes “if their lips are moving……”

Are Canadians that insecure about our country? That Trump talking about Canada becoming the 51st state bothers them. I am a 69-year-old Canadian who knows it will never happen. Please just laugh at Trump.

It’s a threat
Lorne Gunter treats Trump’s threat to Canadian sovereignty as though he was talking to an annoying nine-year-old sibling on a car ride. Why the kids gloves Lorne when dealing with a real threat (and despicable human) and yet swinging hard and wild when it comes to our prime minister? This kind of selective editorial treatment is emblematic of the way the right media conducts business. It wouldn’t be a problem if it was an innocuous nine-year-old but the economic threat is real and this is a 78-year-old wing nut. Be strong when it matters.
