Phoebe Green will release new EP ‘The Container’ on March 21st.
The songwriter constructed the material in environments she finds comfortable, working out of her flat in Manchester and her parents’ house in the coastal town of Lytham St Annes.
Collecting the results, Phoebe Green hit the studio with producer Richard Levy, working on material that represents “where I’m at in terms of taste, ability and emotional state…”
New single ‘What Are You Doing’ is out now, and it finds the alt-pop voice sifting through the embers of a failed relationship. Learning to move beyond the toxicity of the past, it’s a song about learning your truth worth, while also mapping out emotional grey areas.
She comments…
‘What Are You Doing’ explores the mourning of a pretty toxic relationship, coming to terms with how damaging it was in hindsight, but how thrilling and all-consuming it felt at the time. Now that it feels so far in the past it’s impossible not to be curious about what this person is doing, how they’re going about their day to-day-life and wondering if I still take up space in their mind.
Tune in now.
