Tottenham are sweating over the fitness of Pape Sarr, Djed Spence and Yves Bissouma ahead of the visit of Leicester on Sunday.
Right-back Spence was ineligible to face Hoffenheim in the Europa League on Thursday and did not travel to Germany, but remains a doubt after taking a knock in the defeat to Everton at the weekend.
Sarr also picked up a knock at Goodison and missed the trip to Hoffenheim, leaving him in a race to be fit for the weekend, while Bissouma suffered a minor muscle strain in the defeat to Arsenal last week.
Ange Postecoglou told reporters on Friday: “Djed’s still sore from the weekend, he got a knock so he’s a doubt. Pape’s still a doubt, Reggy [Sergio Reguilon] should be OK.”
“We’ll see how we go [with Bissouma]. He’s definitely a doubt for Sunday but we’re hoping by Elfsborg he could be right. “
The game will come too soon for Cristian Romero, who returned to training this week.
Asked if Romero could be in the matchday squad for Sunday, Postecoglou replied: “No, no. We got him back training.
“Him and Micky [van de Ven] are the two back next out of the long-term ones but the’ve still got a bit to do in terms of getting training into them with the team.
“The other day was a low-tempo session so it was good to get him [Romero] involved.
“Micky’s not too far away. These players will come back, they’re not deceased, they’re just injured. It’s not all doom and gloom.”
Antonin Kinsky, Sergio Reguilon and Min-hyeok Yang are available to return to the squad against the Foxes after being ineligible on Thursday night.
