Strictly Come Dancing tour may be forced to go on without one beloved face after the celebrity took to Instagram with a snap of their sore and bruised ankle following a painful injury.
Wynne Evans, who was partnered with Katya Jones during the 22nd series of the competition, hit the road with their co-stars for the tour, which kicked off earlier this month.
However, the opera singer could be forced to step down after sustaining a brutal injury, which he opened up about on social media and wrote: “Turned my ankle last night in the show but I’m being a brave soldier.”
This comes after Friday night’s performance in Glasgow was scrapped due to treacherous weather conditions sweeping the country, sparking red weather warnings.
On Saturday (January 25), the 52-year-old took to his Instagram stories with an update of his injury with a photo of his bruised ankle.
Addressing his followers, Wynne shared: “Ankle update!!!!! It just turned on stage in Newcastle. Sore, but the swelling is coming out, so I’m feeling positive. ” However, it’s yet to be seen if Wynne will appear on stage alongside his dancing co-stars.
Strictly judge Craig Revel Horwood also updated fans and revealed Friday night’s show would be rescheduled for Sunday night instead due to the red weather warning in place.
He penned: “Sadly, due to the red weather warning in place tomorrow, the Friday evening performance of Strictly Come Dancing The Live Tour will be rescheduled to Sunday evening, 26 January. Doors will open at 17.30 and the performance will start at 18.30.
“Original tickets remain valid for this show. If guests are unable to attend, they should contact their point of purchase for a refund. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.”
Scotland faced life-threatening gales prompting the Met Office to issue a red weather warning from 10am-5pm on Friday.
Travel chaos gripped Glasgow as all trains and buses were cancelled, potentially leaving attendees stranded and struggling to get to the OVO Hydro due to Storm Eowyn.
A statement on the OVO Hydro’s X page read: “Due to the red weather warning in place tomorrow, the Friday evening performance of Strictly Come Dancing The Live Tour will be rescheduled to Sunday evening, 26 January.”
The new schedule sees doors opening at 17.30 and the performance starting at 18.30. Original tickets will remain valid for this show; but those unable to attend are advised to contact their point of purchase for a refund.
Wynne previously shared a few backstage stories from the tour and during an appearance on the One Show, he said: “It’s fun, you know, it’s just real fun, it’s absolute entertainment. Craig is as rude as ever. He called me yesterday, he said that I was stompy and flat footed. Right?”
He added: “So I said, ‘Have you heard your album, mate, that’s stompy and flat if ever I’ve heard it,’ So yeah, there’s quite a lot of banter and he gave me a two yesterday, so I was absolutely gutted, just because I was a bit rude about his album!”
