It will be a chilling experience.
The Downtown Windsor Business Improvement Association (DWBIA) is embracing winter with Polar Fest, a “thrilling celebration” of Canada’s coldest season and the Windsor-Essex Polar Plunge.
“Polar Fest isn’t just another winter festival — it’s a celebration of creativity, energy, and community spirit,” said DWBIA chair Chris MacLeod. “Whether you’re a vendor, a spectator, or one of our fearless plungers, this is an event you don’t want to miss.”

The family event will take place Feb. 28 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Vision Corridor Park in front of the Windsor International Aquatic and Training Centre.
The DWBIA is piggybacking on the 11th annual Windsor-Essex Polar Plunge, which takes place the same evening outside the aquatic centre.
The Polar Plunge, a Special Olympics fundraiser where volunteers raise money by jumping into freezing water, runs from 6 to 8 p.m.
“This event showcases the strength and unity of our community while also championing local businesses and artists,” said Chief Jason Bellaire of the Windsor Police Service, a major supporter of the polar plunge and Special Olympics. “The Polar Plunge has always been about rallying together for a great cause, and Polar Fest is the perfect way to elevate the excitement.”
Polar Fest will feature food trucks, local vendors, artists, crafters, live entertainment, and activity stations for children. Unique handmade goods, artwork, and one-of-a-kind crafts will be up for sale.
