A 36-year-old man from Lake Alma, Sask. has been charged after what police say were a series of break-ins and mailbox thefts in Regina.
The man faces nine charges, according to a news release issued by the Regina Police Service (RPS) on Thursday, including four counts of break and enter to commit theft, four counts of possessing break and enter tool and one count of theft under $5,000.

Police say the first incident occurred Nov. 5, 2024 at an apartment building on the 2700 block of 5th Avenue North.
“The suspect entered the apartment, pried open mailboxes and stole several pieces of mail,” the release states.
Next, on Nov. 8, 2024, police say an apartment on the 2900 block of Avonhurst Drive was “targeted.”
Then, on Jan 14, 2025, police say a suspect “removed all of the mail” from the mailbox at the front of a residence on the 800 block of Robinson Street. According to the release, numerous mailboxes were pried open in an apartment building on the 2000 block of 9th Ave. North two days later and mail was stolen by a male suspect.
“Five days later, on January 21, 2025, the same apartment building in the 2900 block of Avonhurst Drive was entered. A male suspect used a screwdriver to open several mailboxes, was confronted by a witness and fled the scene,” the release states.
Police say the investigation and video surveillance led to the identification of the man arrested, who made his first appearance in Regina provincial court on Monday.
