The Town of Tecumseh’s snowplows have leveled up, with residents giving them names worthy of winter warriors — Plowasaurus Rex, Frostimus Prime, and Plowzilla.
With more than 150 submissions in the town’s name-the-plow contest, seven snowplows now have fresh, creative names for the 2025-26 winter season.
“Over the past months, residents demonstrated incredible creativity and community spirit by submitting and voting for their favourite names,” the town said in a release. “Submissions ranged from witty puns to heartfelt tributes to Tecumseh’s heritage and landmarks.”

Buzz Iceclear plowed past the competition, earning 76 per cent of the vote as Tecumseh’s top name. The town’s snowplows will also bear names like CTRL-SALT-DELETE, Plowabunga, and Sleetwood Mac.

“The enthusiasm and creativity shown by our residents have been incredible,” said Kirby McArdle, manager of public works. “These names add a personal touch to our fleet and celebrate the connection between the town and the community we serve.
“We’re excited to see these newly named plows in action for the duration of this winter.”
The seven winning names were unveiled to the town during the Jan. 28 council meeting. The winners will have the chance to meet their newly named plows in person at an upcoming Meet the Machines event this spring.
