In conversation with Farah Khan, Karan Veer Mehra revealed, “My mom was hospitalized because she was diagnosed with dengue. Abhishek Kumar, who was in Bigg Boss 17 and Khatron Ke Khiladi 14, is a very sweet guy, a very sweet friend, he took my mother’s number from somewhere and called my mom.”
Karan Veer revealed that Abhishek contacted his mother and told her not to watch Bigg Boss 18. As a result, his mother quit watching the show. Farah Khan also recalled how her mother watched Bigg Boss Season 16 when her brother Sajid Khan was on the controversial reality show. The filmmaker revealed that her mother used to get “very hyper” watching the episodes. The Bigg Boss 18 winner mentioned how the competition was such that situations got complicated in the house. He even informed Farah that his mother wanted to give her a “tight hug” since she encouraged him during one of the weekend episodes this season.
During the Weekend Ka Vaar segment, host Farah Khan defended Karan Veer by comparing his journey to that of the late Sidharth Shukla, the winner of BB13. Farah went on to call this season the Karan Veer Mehra Show. She stated, “You only hear about Karan, Karan’s issues, Karan’s gossip, which is why I said this has become the Karan Veer Mehra show. Last I saw one contestant get targeted just like this, that was Sidharth Shukla and he won the show.”
Before winning Bigg Boss 18, Karan Veer Mehra won Season 14 of the stunt-based reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi, hosted by Rohit Shetty. Aside from these two reality series, Karan Veer has been in several daily soap operas, including Pavitra Rishta, Woh Toh Hai Albelaa, Baatein Kuch Ankahee Si, Pukaar- Dil Se Dil Tak, and others.
