Apple is kicking off its 2025 by taking applications for the Swift Student Challenge until February 23rd, 2025.
If you’re a student who’s 15 years of age or older in Canada, you can submit your app project on Apple’s Challenge website. 13-14 year old kids can also enter in some countries. You also need to be registered for Apple’s free developer program and be registered in at least one STEM class.
To submit, you need to build a three-minute scene in an app playground that can be zipped down to 25MB and accessible completely offline. It also needs to be an individual project since group work isn’t allowed. You can find out more about eligibility and how to apply on Apple’s Swift Student Challenge website.
To win, you need to make it from the Global Pool and into the next round of 350 people. Then, 50 winners will be selected from this list and invited to Apple to learn from the company for three days. In 2024, a Canadian graduate made an app called Care Capsule elder care and won the challenge.
