Pete Lau, the CEO of OnePlus, criticized Samsung foldables in a tweet.
Lau shared an image of the Oppo Find N5 beside the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6, saying, “No crease detected, well, not on the Oppo Find N5.” Samsung isn’t explicitly mentioned in the tweet, but that handset is clearly a Z Fold smartphone.

Additionally, Lau revealed that the Oppo Find N5 will offer IPX9 and IPX8 water protection. IPX9 means that the handset can withstand high-pressure liquids and steam cleaning, while IPX8 means that the phone has total protection against water ingress, up to and including complete submersion below one metre for more than 30 minutes. However, the handset will lack dust protection.
Oppo hasn’t released its phones in North America, but it’s worth paying attention to as the OnePlus Open 2 will likely be a reskinned version of this handset. Lau’s bragging about this handset on Twitter makes this quite clear.
Additionally, the prolific Evan Blass has shared alleged images of the Oppo Find N5, the company’s upcoming foldable. Blass shared these images on X/Twitter and in his newsletter.
As you can see, the device will look similar to the OnePlus Open, but the camera bump has a slightly different shape.
The Oppo Find N5 is expected to be the thinnest foldable phone yet, even thinner than the Honor Magic V3, measuring 4.35mm in thickness. Oppo also showed that the phone is as thick as two coins.
Rumours point to the handset featuring a 5,900mAh battery and a triple camera setup: a 50-megapixel primary shooter on the back and 32-megapixel and 20-megapixel shooters on the front.
Oppo plans to reveal the Find N5 on February 20th. It’s unclear when the OnePlus Open 2 will launch, but hopefully, it won’t take OnePlus too long to release its skinned version of the Find N5.
