The Saskatchewan Roughriders have added another American pass catcher to the roster for the 2025 CFL season.

On Thursday, the Green and White announced the signing of receiver Ty James, a 6-foot-2, 200-pounder who recently attended training camp with the NFL’s Minnesota Vikings in 2024.
Prior to turning pro, James played four seasons at Mercer University where he had 171 catches for 3,364 yards and 30 touchdowns in 45 games. He posted consecutive 1,110-yard seasons as a junior and a senior while being named an All-Southern Conference selection. He also became Mercer’s first ever consensus All-American selection and in 2023, he was one of 30 finalists nominated for the Walter Payton Award as the top offensive player in NCAA Division 1 football.
