A pair of back-to-back victories over the Prince Albert Raiders has allowed the Saskatoon Blades to clinch a Western Hockey League playoff spot for the fifth season in a row.

Playing at home on Saturday night, Hunter Laing scored twice for the Blades, while teammates Tyler Parr and Cooper Williams each scored once as the Blades defeated the Raiders 4-1.
Ethan McCallum, who was just 16 seconds short of securing the shutout for the host team, managed 40 saves on 41 shots.

The night before, in Prince Albert, Laing notched two goals as well, including what proved to be the game-winner just two minutes and seven seconds into the third period, as Saskatoon won 3-2.
Saskatoon’s other goal in that game belonged to Hudson Kibblewhite, while Evan Gardner made 41 saves between the pipes.
With seven regular-season games still to go, the Blades are currently sixth in the East Conference with a 33-21-3-4 record and 73 points, just one point behind the Raiders, with a game still in hand, for the No. 2 playoff seeding.
They’ll return to the ice Tuesday against the Regina Patswhen they start a three-game road trip.
