If you’ve been checking in on our regular feature, the App Army Assemble, you may remember that we had a fairly welcome reception to the cyberpunk roguelike deckbuilder Cyber Quest. And if it intrigued you, and you need another reason to give it a look, then today’s latest update which adds in Adventure Mode is sure to lure you in!
What’s in store? Well, to start Adventure Mode now gives you a bit more of a laid-back means to explore the city setting of Cyber Quest. Be that meeting a bevy of quirky characters, taking on odd jobs and making tough choices or just trying your luck at a casino. You’ll be able to have a crack at hacking minigames and uncover hidden secrets, powerful allies and even more powerful enemies to boot.
Yes, that means new text adventure events and more. But even outside of the adventure aspect, there’s a new card class with the Hopper, new enemy dialogue to enjoy, a crew randomiser to add some extra spice to your next run, squads to help you unlock a host of preset characters and more!
Cyberpsychosis
Cyber Quest was one of those recent releases that made me sit up and take notice, if for no other reason than the fact that it combined many of my interests. And while the roguelike deckbuilder genre has become an increasingly saturated one, it’s good to see a fairly indie take once more gain prominence. I’m sure the adventure mode will also add plenty of longevity for new and returning fans alike!
Speaking of new releases, be sure to check in on some of our reviews for our opinion on the latest top drops! This week Jack Brassel has been taking a look at another trendy genre with EvoCreo 2 as he tackles more creature-collecting action.
