It’s the million-dollar question, and we are finally within minutes of knowing the answer.
As the PM arrives at Parliament House to hold the press conference to announce the election date, we can be very confident we know date based on a few factors.

From the day an election is called, there must be a campaign window of at least 33 days and no more than 58 days.

With the Easter and ANZAC day long weekends ruled out, the remaining possible dates for the election are May 3, May 10 and the latest possible date of May 17.
No one wants a 7-week-long campaign, so May 17 is as good as ruled out.
With that in mind, we can whittle the options down to May 3 and May 10, with insiders tipping that the PM is more inclined towards a shorter campaign, and therefore will opt for the former.
