No. 9 Tennessee 5, No. 2 Oklahoma 2: NORMAN, Okla. – Sophia Nugent hit a two-run homer in the top of the eighth to break a 2-2 tie. The Lady Vols (28-6, 4-3) added an insurance run with a single, walk, fielder’s choice and wild pitch. Tennessee’s Amayah Doyle hit a two-run homer in the second inning.
Tennessee ace Karyln Pickens (11-4) pitched 5 2/3 inning of relief for the victory. She allowed six hits and one earned run. She struck out six with no walks, throwing 85 pitches. OU’s Sam Landry (10-1) pitched a complete game. She allowed eight hits, striking out two with three walks, throwing 141 pitches. Abigale Dayton hit a solo homer in the fifth and Gabbie Garcia had a sacrifice fly in the third. The Sooners (30-2, 8-2) lost at home for the first time this year.
No. 15 Georgia 4, Alabama 3: TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Crimson Tide scored a run in each of its last three at-bats, but Georgia managed to hold on, despite having two errors in the last inning.
Randi Roelling earned her second save of the season with 1 1/3 hitless innings. She struck out one with no walks. Lilli Backes (10-3) was the winner, striking out eight in 5 2/3 innings with two walks, allowing seven hits.
The Bulldogs (24-8, 3-6) had seven hits, four of them for extra bases, while the Crimson Tide (23-12, 2-4) also had seven hits but only one for extra bases
No. 12 Arkansas 5, Kentucky 3: FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Razorbacks scored four runs in the first inning on a pair of two-run doubles by Kailey Wyckoff and Atalyia Rijo. Arkansas (24-7 4-6) loaded the bases on two hit batters and a walk. Wyckoff doubled to left. After another walk, Rio doubled to left-center field to chase Kentucky starting pitcher Julie Kelley (3-3) who retired only two batters. Payton Burnham (6-2) was the winning pitcher with 4 1/3 innings, striking out five and walking three.
