Starting next Monday, the Gardiner’s westbound lanes will be reduced from four lanes to three lanes along the stretch running from Park Lawn Rd. to Grand Ave. for one year.
The city says the lane reductions are required so crews can carry out required work on bridges.
Construction now causing delays for eastbound traffic will be paused for about two months, starting May 2026, to accommodate increased traffic anticipated during the FIFA World Cup.
The city’s construction plans also call for the following lane and ramp restrictions:
• April-November: A stretch of Kipling and Islington Aves. will be reduced from three lanes to two lanes over the Gardiner Expressway .
•November-April 2026: There will be a closure of the Park Lawn Rd. on-ramp to the westbound Gardiner.
• Starting April 7: For four months, there will be intermittent lane reductions on the section of Park Lawn Rd. which passes under the Gardiner.
