Nice to see the spring weather roll around last week: snow melted and our ditches littered with bags of discarded garbage. Most torn open and scattered about.
Who’s cleaning this mess up? I think the city councillors should be front and centre since it was their brilliant idea to reduce garbage pickup.

STOP THE BUY CANADIAN ADS
I think it’s about time for the Angry Old White Guy to comment on this mess caused by Donald Trump and the Canadian government. Maybe I’m jaded, but please stop the buy Canadian ads!
In my defence, I’ll explain how I shop. Being a pensioner and no friend of the government, I know my dollar only stretches so far. To get the best dollar value, I shop where the prices are the lowest. I don’t care who’s offended if I shop at Costco, Walmart or any other “foreign”-owned store. A buck is a buck.

Just curious: are all you American haters the same ones who were demanding people stop shopping at Loblaws, a 100 per cent Canadian company, because it gouged the shoppers?
You are unbelievable. I think you’d cut off your nose to spite your face. Wait, that’s OK, you don’t think past it anyway.

CAN’T RESPECT THE MAN
I’d like to comment on some of Liberal Leader Mark Carney’s campaign ads, particularly the one that claims he steered Canada through the 2008 financial crisis. He absolutely did not. That credit goes to the late Jim Flaherty, then-prime minister Stephen Harper’s finance minister.
I cannot respect a man who “misleads” to make himself look good. There’s way too much of that these days. Pity.

SMITH ON THE BALLOT?
Can Alberta Premier Danielle Smith be our next prime minister? She seems to be the only one in Canadian politics who gets it.
