Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash gave fans an insight into their blended family in their new series
Stacey Solomon shared the reality of what it’s really like parenting six children in her new tell-all series, Stacey & Joe.
The new BBC series follows the family over a period of six months as they let cameras into their home, Pickle Cottage, for the first time.
Stacey and Joe first met in 2010 after the pair were both in Australia for I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!. The couple, who tied the knot in 2022, share three children, Rex, five, Rose, three, and Belle, two. Joe also has a teenage son called Harry while Stacey is a mum to older boys Zachary and Leighton.
As the first episode kicked off with their second wedding anniversary, the following days saw Stacey showing the difficulties of trying to parent different children.
Tensions rose as Joe went on an overnight fishing trip with his two best mates leaving Stacey at home to look after the children.
The married couple spoke on the phone as Stacey pleaded with Joe to make sure he’s home for 10am the following day as she had an important meeting to attend to.
Stacey shared that she was working on her true “passion project” which is to make her own perfume. Unfortunately, she was left disappointed when Joe didn’t show up as promised and she was seen juggling crying children while trying to act professional.
Later in the show, Stacey said she had promised that her son Zach could have a party with his friends over the summer as it was his last year of school.
She told the camera: “I said to Zach, you can have a party as long as you get up at 11 and start helping. It’s now 12:45 and me and Belle are chasing him around the house.”
As she walked up to her son, she could be heard saying: “This is all not cool and not clever, I’m happy you had a great time but the party is over. It is good morning, in fact, it’s good afternoon.”
With Zach arguing back that he didn’t go to bed until 4am, Stacey responded: “Yeah, and so did I. Right, you’ve got five seconds to get out of bed because the next time you ask me for something I’ll say no.”
After arguing with her boys about which chores they need to do, Zach became irritated as she joked that she’d tell his friends which chores they’re doing.
Stacey soon turned serious as she replied: “If you swear one more time Zach, no I’m not joking, just because there’s people here doesn’t mean I won’t have the argument with you. No, you won’t do that. Just get your bins.”
The camera then cut to Joe admitting that they have different versions of parenting, with Joe being a lot softer with the children compared to Stacey. It then saw her boys Zach and Leighton laughing as they took the bins out.
