A 62-year-old Sarnia man faces several charges after allegedly pushing a woman from a car moving at 50 km/hr.
Sarnia Police say the incident happened on Indian Road and Devine Street in the city on June 16 at 4:07 p.m.
Police arrived at the scene to find an injured 58-year-old woman who told them she was in a vehicle with a male driver known to her as “Jeff.” While driving, an argument arose during which “Jeff” pushed her out of the moving car. The victim suffered a dislocated knee and scratches. She was treated at hospital and later released.
A few days later, on June 30 at about 7:10 a.m., police were on the scene of an unrelated matter when an officer recognized the suspect known as “Jeff” nearby. He was placed under arrest and was remanded into custody.
He faces charges of assault, assault causing bodily harm, dangerous driving and failure to stop after an accident.
