- Town of Salem 2 is officially coming to mobile after the first release seemed to go radio silent
- The announcement was made with the establishment of new publisher Digital Bandidos
- The publisher is also taking the reins on Soulstone Survivors
A new publisher established by Versus Evil veterans, called Digital Bandidos, will come out of the gate swinging as it aims to bring the hit social-deduction game Town of Salem 2 to mobile. The game was first announced as hitting Android around six months ago but had since gone radio silent, yet it seems that release is back on the cards!
We won’t get into the business side of things here, since that’s beyond our remit. But rest assured that it seems Digital Bandidos recognise some of the huge success of games like Town of Salem on mobile, and want to bring the sequel to smartphones. They’ve also hinted at a potential multiplatform release for hit early-access game Soulstone survivors, whom they now serve as publishers.
Town of Salem 2 is a multiplayer social deduction game, where you’ll take on a variety of roles. Similar to titles like Among Us, your job is to unmask members of the town’s Coven or to destroy the Town as the Coven. Additional layers of both Town-aligned, Coven-aligned and Neutral roles mean that everyone is a suspect, and everyone has a role to play.
Back to Salem
While we don’t really cover business on the site, we’re very pleased to see another game hit mobile. And while Among Us and games like it may rule the roost, Town of Salem is arguably the most complete series in the genre, with dozens of roles in Town of Salem 2 that make it a stunningly complex mystery to unravel, or ravel depending on who you play.
