Re: OC Transpo to cut midday LRT service frequency, online, July 30
Is it not about time that the senior management of OC Transpo step down or are dismissed? We all are very aware that the bus network has had ongoing problems for years, and the LRT is a joke. The idea of running the Confederation Line every 10 minutes instead of the current five minutes to save $1.635 million per year is ludicrous as that would be a drop in the bucket when the deficit is $50 million for 2024.
What would save $8.34 million is cancelling that no-need, ridiculous, silly and very unpopular roundabout at the intersection of Fortune Drive and Vineyard Drive. The City of Ottawa, which allocates OC Transpo’s yearly budget, has a responsibility to its taxpayers to ensure that money is spent responsibly and in accordance with taxpayers’ needs, which this roundabout does not.

It is about time that those responsible for such decisions (spending and overseeing proposed projects) are a lot more accountable.

LAST UNITED CANADIAN TEAM?
I am watching the 2024 Summer Olympics with some sadness in my heart. I fear this may be the last Olympics where we see a complete and united Canadian team. A lot will change in Canada between now and the next Summer Olympics in 2028. I expect a very important federal election in Canada will take place. If the Conservatives win, we will see a united Canada compete in the 2028 Summer Olympics. If the Trudeau government is elected again, it is the end of Canada as we know it.
The province of Alberta will move with lightning speed to separate from Canada because the people of Alberta will not tolerate or accept another term under the rule of a Trudeau government. This government has done more destruction to the province of Alberta and hurt the people of Alberta more than any other federal Canadian government in history.
The only thing keeping the people of Alberta in Canada at the moment is hope in the current national polls that show a Conservative federal government will be elected.
