Since Phasmophobia made its frightening debut on PC, console players have eagerly awaited their shot at the popular ghost-hunting game. Even though the chances seemed slim, the time has finally come for everyone to experience the horrific journey. Here’s when to expect Phasmophobia to release on consoles.
Phasmophobia console release date, explained
According to the game’s official Steam page, Phasmophobia will debut on consoles in October 2024. While there isn’t a set release date yet, we know that it will launch sometime around the in-game Halloween Event. That means it’ll likely arrive around Oct. 26, as last year’s celebration released around this time.
The only setback is that voice recognition may only be available until after the console launch. This feature allows PC users to communicate with the ghosts with a Spirit Box, utilizing recognized phrases. Console users will, instead, use text input. However, Kinetic Games is working on this mechanic to possibly get it ready for launch.
Phasmophobia will cost $19.99 upon release, showcasing a six-dollar increase from its current version. The Eventide update will also be available, bringing the terrors of the Point Hope map. In the future, new updates are expected to launch simultaneously on all platforms. So, there’s no need to worry about console or PC-exclusive content.
All upcoming consoles for Phasmophobia
The Console Announcement trailer confirms that the Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation VR2 will be available for Phasmophobia. However, this does not include the Xbox Game Pass, as there are currently no plans for this subscription service.
From the looks of it, Phasmophobia will not be compatible with PS4 or Xbox One. The game seems to be sticking to the newer consoles, but this could still change with new developments.
Cross-play features will also be available for all players, allowing you to experience the horrors of Phasmophobia with everyone.
