RCMP say a 30-year-old man faces a list of charges after three people were taken to a rural location in the La Ronge, Sask. detachment area, threatened with a gun and assaulted; each person had a finger severed during the June attack.
An investigation began when an injured adult showed up at the La Ronge hospital on June 26, RCMP said in a news release on Monday. The release said the suspect was known to the victims.

The La Ronge crime reduction team arrested the suspect more than a month later, on July 28.
He faces five counts of aggravated assault, two counts of assault with a weapon, two counts of assault by choking, four counts of uttering threats, four counts of pointing a firearm, one count of possessing a firearm without a licence, two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, one count of mischief over $5,000 and one count of possession of a firearm contrary to a court order.
He’s also charged with four counts of failing to comply with a release condition; the release said the man was subject to an arrest warrant for failing to attend court and RCMP had received a report that he’d cut off a device monitoring his court-ordered curfew on June 20.
The crime reduction team determined the suspect was inside a home in La Ronge on Friday, the release said. Officers surrounded the home and arrested him without incident. He appeared in La Ronge provincial court on Monday.
