A familiar face is now the new General Manager at the Shoppes at EastChase. The Shoppes at EastChase has changed owners from Crawford Square to 5 Rivers CRE, which is based out of Houston, Texas. But the new General Manager was born and raised right here in the Capitol City.
The future of EastChase looks bright as longtime Montgomery resident Richard Holman says he is thrilled to take the reins. “EastChase is one of the number one top retail shopping centers in Alabama with some of the finest retailers in Alabama. I think what EastChase is fortunate enough to have, you’ve got a lot of great retailers, whether it be Dillard’s or H&M or the Farmers Market on Saturday. And it draws a tremendous crowd with all the events that we have,” said Holman.
Holman worked in the insurance industry for 30 years before becoming the General Manager at Eastdale Mall and the Wiregrass Commons Mall in Dothan. “Today, brick and mortar, you still have 88% of people who still like to go out to your stores and feel and touch and say ‘I want to buy this.’ Yeah, you can buy it online, and we are actually working on a data center right now where you can do that, but at the end of the day people still like to be able to see that product and touch it and be able to say ‘this is what I want,’” said Holman.
And Holman is excited about the future. “The Farmers Market is one of the top rated in Alabama. You talk about having Christmas with Santa out here and the parades. We are going to do all of that. You talk about having movie night and concert nights, and we have yoga on the green where you can just come out and be family. And if you haven’t been here in a while, you should come back because there are some new stores. We’ve got Build A Bear coming out here, and we have some other stores coming, so there are a lot of good stores that are not only here but coming here,” said Holman.
