The Saskatoon Hilltops improved to 2-0 in the Prairie Football Conference on Sunday afternoon, trouncing the Winnipeg Rifles 47-1.
Drake Douglas pulled in the first major for the Hilltops in the first quarter, giving his team a 7-0 lead. Saskatoon added another major from Corbin Ebben, and a pair of field goals from Ryden Gratton, to increase the lead to 20-0 by the end of the second quarter.

Winnipeg got on the board with a single in the third quarter, but Ryan Adamko and Douglas both scored for the Hilltops to make the score 33-1 entering the fourth quarter.
In the final 15 minutes, Charles Sawi scored again for Saskatoon, while Nathan Young added a pick-six for the Hilltops to wrap up the road trip.
Five of the six Hilltops touchdowns were converted.
The blue-and-gold will be back in action next weekend as they travel to Calgary for a meeting with the Colts.
Franklin, Mosher make cut at junior golf nationals
A pair of Saskatoon golfers have completed all four rounds of the Canadian Junior Boys Golf Championship held Aug. 12-16 in Innisfail, AB.
Aricin Franklin finished tied for 20th, with a score of one-over 289 (71-73-72-73), while Ryan Mosher finished 11-over 299. (78-72-76-73).
Also at the tournament were Saskatoon’s Max Regier, Regina’s Aiden Walker and Weyburn’s Darien Herlick.
Giesbrecht tops Junior Lobstick
Warman’s Dane Giesbrecht won the Championship Flight of the Junior Lobstick at the Waskesiu Golf Club, completing multiple rounds of competition this past week, Aug. 12-16.

The Championship Flight Consolation was claimed by North Battleford’s Shae Maunula.
Giesbrecht and Maunula finished first in the qualifying round, with both earning a score of two-over 72.
Saskatchewan teams at softball nationals
The Carnduff Southeast Steelers are once again the Women’s Canadian Fast Pitch champions after claiming gold at the championship Aug. 7-11 in Blackfalds, AB.
In the gold-medal final, Carnduff defeated the Oakville Angels 6-3.
Steelers’ pitcher Jorde Chartrand was named a tournament all-star, as well as the top player in the championship round, while teammate Michelle Kukurudza was also named an all-star at the infielder position.
Meanwhile, at the U17 Boys Canadian Fast Pitch Championship in St-Gervias, Que., the Prince Albert Astros fell 7-0 in the semifinals but infielder Jackson MacIver was named a tournament all-star.
