Collect beer bar has been operating out of the Eastern Market for the past five years and their rooftop bar has been a favorite spot for Detroiters. Friday, they moved to their new location on the eastside and their customers moved with them.
“We got the license from the state at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. We opened the doors at 4:10 p.m,” said co-owner Kyle Hunt. “It was busy but it was fun. We had our regulars and a lot of new people in the neighborhood come by.”

The family owned bar located at 9301 Kercheval Avenue has indoor tabletop and bar seating with an outdoor courtyard. The collective 3,500 square foot space also features a basketball hoop.
“We enjoy basketball here. We’re in a unique space that has huge ceilings… and we had room to put a regulation basketball hoop in. It seemed like a good piece to add to the space,” said Hunt.
After shooting a few baskets, you can grab a beer or a gatorade from the bar which has both on draft.
“It was funny on Friday, people had a beer or two, a gatorade then went on their way.”
In addition to beer and gatorade, Collect has assortment of wines, ciders, seltzers and even hot dogs available for customers.
The bar is open Monday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Friday through Sunday from noon to 11 p.m.
