- Mixball is a brand new mix of merge and suika game hitting Google Play today
- The best part? It’s totally free!
- The most interesting part? The solo indie team is probably doing more than most devs his age
Unfortunately, it’s Friday, and I’ve got nothing in the tank when it comes to puzzle game jokes. But that’s fine because today’s subject stands totally on its own, as the solo-developed Mixball is landing on Google Play today, completely for free! And there’s one very interesting thing about this game.
But first, what is Mixball? Mixball could best be described as a sort of mix of merge and suika game. You place balls onto a grid, merging them together to score points. You can only merge balls of the same type and size, so you’ll need to carefully pick from a ‘deck’ of three at any given time.
It looks like a pretty decent game, by my estimation. So what’s so impressive about it? Well, not only is this game coming from a one-person indie dev, but it’s also from one who’s only 17. Yes, if you need to feel just a little more inadequate, developer NattoXez is a one-man operation by someone who’s not old enough to drink yet.

Say suika
While Mixball is pretty basic by the glitzy standards we’re used to in many mobile games, I’d say it looks pretty complete, especially for a fully free-to-play game. It comes packed with power-ups and two modes: Endless and Level, where you can see how long you’ll survive, or play through 50 levels that reset every seven days.
