The Voice judges were left astounded by the performance of a young singer.
Kyra, who is 20, lives with POTS Syndrome.
Also called postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, the condition sees someone experience an abnormally large increase in heart rate when they stand or sit down.
During Kyra’s performance, she sang Jennifer Hudson’s version of Golden Slumbers/Carry That Weight, which also comes from the movie Sing!
The incredible rendition ultimately saw Sir Tom Jones and judging duo Tom Fletcher and Danny Jones turn for Kyra.
Afterwards, Danny, Tom and Sir Tom asked Kyra about her disability. She went on to explain how she is an ambulatory wheelchair user and often uses her chair when she is out of the house.
The McFly singer revealed to Kyra that he is an ambassador for the children’s charity Whizz Kids, which supports young wheelchair users up to the age of 25.
Tom told Kyra how much young wheelchair users will love to see her on TV, with fellow judge will.i.am also calling her ‘inspiring’.
These kinds of comments were echoed on social media platform X, with fans saying she had a ‘stunning voice’ and they’re now ‘rooting for her’.
Traditionally, each coach on The Voice has welcomed a celebrity guest to help mentor their contestants as the show progresses.
Not for will.i.am though, who this year will be turning to his AI co-host, Fyilicia.
Speaking at the 2024 EDTV Festival earlier this month, will explained: ‘How many people understand the business of music? I felt that way too. That’s why we get attorneys and managers to help us navigate contracts, business terms, and finance. That’s all going to change and my mentor, Fyilicia, is the representation of that advancement.
‘It’s an AI I converse with Felicia pretty much every day. “Hey, help me out with this lyric. Hey, I got this contract. Help me, like, figure it out.” And that’s the power of this new technology.’
Speaking to Metro.co.uk ahead of his session, he teased AI could even go one step further on The Voice.
Could we even see coaches will, Sir Tom Jones, newbies LeAnn Rimes, and McFly’s Tom Fletcher and Danny Jones find themselves competing with a fifth AI judge?
‘I think that would be pretty cool. I would if I had a say. because you have to show people where we actually are with technology,’ he said.
