Despite being a limited version, the Black Ops 6 beta offers plenty of unique challenges to tackle during Weekends One and Two. So, if you want to know what to expect, here are the available maps and modes during BO6’s Open Beta period.
All Black Ops 6 beta modes
Black Ops 6’s beta begins with Weekend One on Aug. 30, 2024. You can look forward to the following playable modes:
Modes | How to play |
---|---|
Team Deathmatch | The crowd-favorite Team Deathmatch is one of the more straightforward challenges, where you must eliminate enemy Operators for more points. |
Kill Order | Kill Order is a brand-new 6v6 respawn mode introduced in Black Ops 6. Each team includes a High Value Target (HVT), a randomly selected player that must be eliminated for bonus scores. You must also guard your own HVT, as the other side will be gunning for them. |
Domination | Capture, hold, and defend objectives to increase your scores. |
Hardpoint | Capture and hold the Hardpoint zone for as long as possible. |
While these modes are already a part of Call of Duty, you can experience a new challenge with Kill Order later in the beta. Teamwork makes the dream work here, where you can farm a ton of XP with HVT eliminations.
Kill Order also features a Face Off variant, turning off Scorestreaks altogether. This particular variation dives into the fast-paced Strike maps, another new addition of Black Ops 6.
All Black Ops 6 beta maps
The maps in Black Ops 6 beta are split into Core and Strike categories. Core locations encompass Call of Duty’s standardized 6v6 maps, which typically range from small to medium sizes.
Strike maps are much more compact, catering to Face Off’s 6v6 or 2v2 matches. These particular locations are expected to come soon as more maps are added to the game. There’s also an additional Training Grounds area for those who need to practice. Currently, these are the only available maps in Black Ops 6 beta:
- Core Maps:
- Skyline
- Scud
- Rewind
- Derelict
- Training Map:
To give you a better idea of each map, we’ll break down each of them with pictures.
Protocol
Start your journey with the Protocol map, a perfect place to test out BO6’s newest features without the pressure of other players. Equip one of the new Operators and participate in training missions to master the new Omnimovement.
Derelict
In Derelict, you’ll explore a train graveyard in the Appalachian Mountains. Take cover inside the many trains, or get a good vantage point within its buildings.
Rewind
Since Black Ops 6 revolves around the ’90s era, you’ll get to go back in time when videotape stores were all the rage. Head to the Rewind map to check out a part of Zombies’ Liberty Falls location.
Scud
Scud is a desolated military outpost that has suffered a catastrophic attack. Sniper wielders will thrive here using the wide range near the radar dish.
Skyline
Live a luxurious life in Skyline, an extravagant resort in the countryside. Battle around its enclosed space and discover its hidden panic room underneath.
The map and mode lineup will change with Black Ops 6 Open Beta Weekend Two, set for Sept. 6. I’ll update this article once it drops to keep you up to speed.
