- Total War: Empire is coming to mobile, once-more courtesy of Feral Interactive
- Take on colonial powers, or become one, in a grand campaign stretching across three theatres
- Fight it out on the high seas or on land as naval combat is introduced in this classic entry
Feral Interactive are once more taking on one of Creative Assembly’s long-running Total War titles, as Total War: Empire colonises mobile this autumn. The 18th-century-set strategy game takes players throughout many of the formative years of the colonial era, including the American Revolution, the British invasion of Indie and beyond as they collapse and give way to new ideas.
In typical Total War fashion, you’ll compete with other nations across both a turn-based strategic map and in real-time battles. Whether it’s settling old grudges on mainland Europe, deciding who will conquer America and either establishing or resisting colonial expansion in the east, Total War: Empire promises grand battles and strategic manoeuvring in equal measure.
And that’s not even mentioning the addition of an expanding campaign tree that’ll take you from the heyday of shot and pike right to the line-infantry tactics of the Napoleonic era. Or, better yet, the very first introduction of naval combat to the Total War series.
Even more totaler war
And no, you’re not going mad, this game used to be called Empire: Total War. But naming issues aside, Total War: Empire is one game that’s slowly been vindicated by time, or so some would say. I remember when this game was widely considered the nadir of the series, but Feral Interactive promises to bring a wholly fresh, polished version to mobile, letting you enjoy the gunpowder combat.
