- Submit real-world locations and turn them into Gloomsites
- Clean up pollution and collect rewards
- Customise your character and upgrade your skills
Northern Forge has announced an exciting new update within Orna: the GPS RPG, inviting you to do your part to save Mother Earth in your own way. Dubbed Terra’s Legacy, the environment-friendly theme within the RPG will have you cleaning up the planet across Gloomsite locations.
In particular, you can take part in the Green Game Jam 2024 beginning September 9th via some green-themed location-based gameplay. You’ll explore real-world locations during the Terra’s Legacy event by submitting GPS whereabouts, which will then be transformed by the devs into “Gloomsites” within the RPG.
Do your best to take on Murk Monsters in these Gloomsites on Planet Terra, then plant trees and nurture Gaia apples to revive these polluted areas. You can also use harvested Gaia apples to upgrade your powers and customise your character.
“We’re thrilled to participate in the Green Game Jam providing Orna as a platform to raise awareness about environmental issues that affect us all,” says Josh O’Reilly, Marketing Mage at Northern Forge Studios. “Through Terra’s Legacy, we hope to inspire our players to somehow contribute in the real world, fostering awareness through action with a sense of responsibility and community that extends beyond the game.”
