The much-awaited Ganesh Chaturthi is here. Also termed as Vinayaka Chaturthi, the 10-day festival is considered one of the biggest among Hindus in the country. It marks the birth of Lord Ganesha, who is known to be the god of new beginnings and wisdom. While many devotees bring Ganpati Bappa home during this time, Bollywood and TV celebrities also welcome the deity with much pomp and fervour. One such celebrity is Ankita Lokhande.
On Saturday, Ankita gave a sneak peek into her celebrations with her family. Taking to her Instagram handle, the actress posted a video along with a series of photos, showcasing the grand arrangements at her place in the honour of Bappa.
The video showed Ankita, accompanied by her husband Vicky Jain, performing Aarti in front of the Ganpati idol. Wearing a vibrant royal blue saree, she looked absolutely gorgeous. Vicky complemented her in a classic white kurta-pyjama and a colourful ethnic waist coat. The next set of pictures featured the couple posing in front of the deity with folded hands and one with their feline.
Ankita simply wrote in the caption, “Ganapati Bappa Moriya.” Social media users were quick to react to Ankita’s latest Instagram entry. A user said, “Bappa bless you both.” Another person noted, “Both look extremely pretty.” Others wished the lovebirds a happy Ganesh Chaturthi.
Earlier, Ankita Lokhande was too excited to welcome Lord Ganesha to her home. She was spotted with her mother at an idol shop to get Bappa. The actress also performed a brief puja before taking the deity to her house. She could be heard chanting ‘Ganapati Bappa Moriya’ as she stepped out of the shop.
On the professional front, Ankita Lokhande currently appears in the highly anticipated show, Laughter Chefs, hosted by comedian Charti Singh. Other than Ankita Lokhande, several other celebrities from the TV industry, including Arjun Bijlani, Ridhima Pandit and Tina Datta, also welcomed Bappa home.
