The starting week of the Ultimate Team in EA FC 25 will be the most crucial time, as your squad is going to be at its weakest.
Your starting point will differ based on the edition you have bought and the date of your purchase. Buying the Ultimate Edition, especially before August 20, will help you get some invaluable items for your Ultimate Team experience. But if you haven’t done so, worry not – there are still some efficient ways to manage your first squad and reinforce you before the first Champions event.
EA FC 25 guide to kickstart your Ultimate Team experience
To keep matters simple, I will assume you haven’t bought the Ultimate Edition before August 20. If you have, it only gets better. The tips mentioned here are applicable to all, irrespective of the edition you’ve purchased.
- Utilize the web app: Do you think your Ultimate Team adventure begins with early access? Wrong. The web app refreshes on September 18, and that’s when you should start your journey. If you’ve played EA FC 24, you’ll also get a welcome back pack (its contents remain a secret). You’ll also get to choose a Starter Pack nation. Here’s the guide about which country to pick.
- Sell any cosmetics: Your starter pack will contain different items. Apart from player cards, Chemistry modifiers, and injury consumables, sell everything else. When choosing your first kits, select big clubs. These kit items will be Rare Gold, and you can quickly sell them for close to 500 coins (you can get more if you can sell them on the market).
- Start solving the SBCs: As soon as you’ve opened all the packs, start solving the SBCs from the web app. Usually, the fodder required to solve the SBCs should come automatically (from the previously-completed SBCs). However, keep a few coins in reserve, as you could need some spare items at the start.
- Don’t rush with Hybrid Nations and League SBCs: These SBCs usually require items from different nations and leagues. Please don’t rush into solving them by buying the fodder. Instead, you’ll get plenty of packs by playing, and you can use them to solve the Hybrid Nations and League SBCs.
- Choose a familiar formation: It’s the start of a game, so don’t rely on the meta. Instead, go for a formation you’re comfortable with. If you’re entirely new, go with 433 or 442.
- Save your coins: It might seem very attractive to spend coins and buy cards from the market. In the FC series, the values of most cards drop with time. If you spend coins to buy a card, chances are high that you’ll lose coins in the long run. Try to make a squad with the untradeable items you get.
You should now be ready with your squad for the first set of content available in Ultimate Team. If you’ve bought the Ultimate Edition, you’ll get 4,600 FC Points. We will have a detailed guide on how to spend these points in the best fashion in EA FC 25.
