- Scopely’s hit board game adaptation Monopoly Go is teaming up with Marvel
- The crossover will bring classic superhero characters to mobile
- Scopely previously worked with Marvel to produce Strike Force
Monopoly Go is once more in the headlines, although this time it isn’t for making more money or gaining more downloads. Instead, it’s because the hit board game adaption by Scopely is teaming up with another major force in the form of Marvel superheroes! A new trailer and story on Variety have revealed some details about this upcoming collaboration, so let’s dig in!
Well, first off I have to admit the details are a little bit scant at the moment. But going off of the trailer we can expect the appearance of familiar faces like The Hulk, Iron Man, Storm, Black Panther, Thor, Rocket Raccoon and Spider-man (never forget the hyphen).
We do know when the collaboration is set to go live, however, and it’ll arrive on September 26th. Mechanics-wise it’s easy to assume we can see these characters as cosmetics, or having their own unique mini-games, a feature that Monopoly Go has become known for.

To my, my Monopoly
Personally speaking, it’s interesting to see this collaboration pop up with as few initial details as you’d expect. Still, it’s interesting enough to see Marvel so quickly team up with Scopely for something outside its wheelhouse. Although I’ll be damned if I can figure out where they’re getting their version of Storm’s outfit from, as it reminds me of the little-known X-Men anime series from 2011, which is a deep cut by anyone’s standards.
