Fire broke out at a popular golf destination in northern Saskatchewan early Monday morning.
Crews were called to Candle Lake Golf Resort around 12:30 a.m., a news release issued Monday afternoon said.
The fire caused significant damage to sections of the resort’s main building, which contains the restaurant, retail store, coffee shop and administration offices.

Damage to the conference centre hasn’t yet been assessed, the release said. Townhouses, cabins and the RV park were not affected.
Though the situation is ongoing, the golf course remains open, the release stated.
“Golfers are invited to visit the resort and support the community during this difficult time.”
Damage is still being assessed.
Candle Lake is about 220 kilometres northeast of Saskatoon.
