Appointment bookings are now open for the Saskatchewan Health Authority’s fall immunization clinics across the province. Clinics will start the week of Oct. 15.
Vaccines are safe and effective methods of preventing illness and limiting transmission rates this fall and winter, the SHA said in a Tuesday news release, adding that it’s safe to receive both the influenza and COVID-19 vaccines in the same visit.

“Getting immunized is crucial in the fight against respiratory illness and will work to keep not only you but also your loved ones healthy,” SHA medical health officer Dr. Tania Diener said in the release.
“We encourage everyone to receive their vaccines as soon as possible.”
The SHA said those considered most at risk of contracting a respiratory illness include seniors, people with chronic health conditions and/or compromised immune systems, children under five and pregnant women. These groups and their caregivers are encouraged to get vaccinated as soon as possible.
A high-dose flu vaccine is also available for all Saskatchewan residents 65 or older, the release said.
The vaccines are available to residents of the province ages six months and older, free of charge.
“Children aged six months to five years can only be immunized at a SHA public flu clinic, public health office or by a physician or nurse practitioner,” the release noted.
Saskatchewan residents can book appointments for flu and COVID-19 vaccines through the SHA patient booking system at 4flu.ca or by calling 1-833-727-5829 Monday to Friday, the SHA said. An appointment can include themselves and up to five family members.
