Oct. 8—SUPERIOR — Aaron Donald Johnson, 30, of the Village of Superior, allegedly admitted to shooting another man outside his ex-girlfriend’s home in Superior on Sunday night. The man died at the scene.
Johnson was charged Tuesday in Douglas County Circuit Court with first-degree intentional homicide, first-degree recklessly endangering safety and burglary while armed with a dangerous weapon. He is being held in the Douglas County Jail on $1 million bail.
The Superior Police Department released a few additional details about the shooting Tuesday but still has not publicly identified the victim.
According to the news release:
At 9:21 p.m. Sunday, a resident in the 2400 block of Ogden Avenue reported that her ex-boyfriend was knocking on her garage and attempting to gain entry.
Responding police officers heard gunshots and found a crying woman and a man on the ground. The man had multiple gunshot wounds and “was beyond lifesaving measures.”
Johnson had left the scene but was located at his family’s cabin in Iron River. He surrendered without incident. He allegedly made admissions to witnesses that he had shot the man.
Search warrants located evidence at the scene, at the cabin and in Johnson’s vehicle.
