Suspects are sought following a shooting in a residential neighbourhood in Stoney Creek.

Hamilton Police said officers were called on Thursday at 9:30 p.m. to a report of gunshots in the area of Showcase Dr. in the southeast region of the Stoney Creek Mountain. Police confirmed a shooting upon arrival.
Area residents with surveillance cameras re being asked to review their footage for any sighting of a silver SUV that may have fled the scene at high speed and was last seen heading westbound on Showcase Dr.
There are no suspect descriptions available and investigators believe the shooting was targeted, though the motive remains under investigation and the victim is cooperating with authorities.
This is Hamilton’s 54th shooting of the year.

HAMILTON POLICE PROBE ARMED HOME INVASION
Suspects are sought following an armed home invasion in Ancaster early Friday morning.
Hamilton Police said at about 4 a.m. two male suspects, one armed with a handgun, entered a residence in the Gloverleaf Dr. area and demanded the keys to a white Mercedes G-Wagon SUV.
The suspects were described as male, with slim builds, 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-11. They were wearing dark clothing.
There were no reported injuries.

TEEN CHARGED IN GRANDPARENT SCAM
A teen from Brampton has been charged in a grandparent scam.
York Regional Police said an investigation began in July after an alleged victim reported he had received calls from someone pretending to be a police officer and indicating that his grandson had been arrested for drugs and money was needed for bail.
The victim complied and the suspect allegedly sent a courier to collect $6,000 cash from him.
Later that same day, police said the suspect called again, stating that a gun was located in the vehicle he was in and that they now required an additional $7,000.
Realizing that this may be a scam, the victim called police.
Following a two-month investigation, York police charged Markell London, 20, of Brampton, with fraud over $5,000.
On Wednesday, York cops said the 16-year-old has been charged with fraud over $5,000.
