- Mirabio GO launches its first season, Abyssal Souls
- Encounter new Miras and adapt to new season rules & systems
- Use Soul Points to boost your Miras and thwart the dreaded Mira, “Annihilator”
Just weeks after the global launch of Miraibo GO on iOS,Android, and Windows PC, Dreamcube has released the first season of thrilling new content for its vast, open-world, creature-collecting adventure game. Titled “Abyssal Souls”, the inaugural season is now available for players to dive into, with a new unique world and exclusive in-game events awaiting their arrival.
Having had the privilege of a sneak-peek ahead of the season going live, here is a quick (spoiler-free) breakdown of what you can expect.
New Seasons, fresh changes
First off, the introduction of “Abyssal Souls” season ushers in a new core gameplay feature called “seasons.” During a season, players can access exclusive “season worlds” through a temporal rift in the lobby. These parallel worlds exist separately from the main playable world, with their own separate rules and progression systems, and players are unable to transfer their characters or equipment between them. So all players begin a new season “fresh” so to speak.
During a new season, players will encounter new Miras and are tasked to complete limited-time achievements to earn rare rewards like mastery books and fruits. Once the season concludes, players will receive additional rewards based on their performance and rankings.
So what is Abyssal Souls about?
In a suitably eerie theme that befits the Halloween season, Abyssal Souls’ storyline revolves around an ancient evil descending upon the world, with the legendary ancient Mira, the “Annihilator” leading its dark minions in an impending invasion. Players must prepare to confront this looming battle against the forces of darkness, with the assistance of some new Miras of their own (more on that later).
Character progression is revamped, during the seasonal play levels no longer grant attribute points but instead provide a modest health boost. Buffs to attributes will instead come courtesy of a new “Soul” system which allows players to allocate points for powerful stat bonuses.
There are also a few changes when it comes to being defeated, namely: trade and loss of Miras upon defeat is prohibited – Miras are character-bound at acquisition – and all equipment is retained. You will however have forfeit any Soul Points that you haven’t spent.
Overall, the season presents a much darker and more challenging Miraibo GO experience, with the new Soul system throwing up a stern test of your strategic skills. It isn’t all dark though; there are some pretty nifty Halloween costumes and exclusive accessories to be had which lend a festive charm to the Season experience.
New PvP action
If you’re craving some player-vs-player action then Abyssal Souls presents a new, mysterious island summoned by the “Annihilator”. Here you’ll get to test your mettle against other players whilst uncovering its hidden treasures using a new teleport point, but beware—ruthless poachers lurk on the hunt.
When night falls on the island, its four corners come alive with dark powers which present you with fresh puzzles, battles, and treasure hunts. Spectral Shards are awarded for successfully completing them, and these can be exchanged for unique rewards.
Just be prepared for the savagery of battle that awaits you; PvP battles are a free-for-all in which vanquished players drop their seasonal souls to the victors.
New Miras of the “Abyssal Souls” Season
Every new season comes with brand new Miras and the Abyssal Souls season introduces four of them:
- Scaraber: A Mira renowned for its elegant manners and dignified demeanor. Its calm, insightful personality allows it to coexist harmoniously with other Miras, and it is skilled at fairly resolving any disputes that arise.
- Voidhowl: Its very existence is a bad omen, with its presence often coinciding with disasters and misfortune, leading to widespread loathing and fear. However, it appears as a preemptive warning because it senses disasters before they occur.
- Darkraven: Born on the darkest night, the Darkraven embodies the shadowy energy of the abyss. Its eerie, otherworldly calls lure the lost and disoriented towards the unknown depths of the void.
- Annihilator: Legends say the Annihilator emerges from the deepest abyss, embodying a dark power. It feasts on the fear of other beings, and its arrival often foretells an unspeakable disaster and destruction.
