- In a major, and rather surprising announcement, Rust is coming to mobile
- The hit open-world crafting and building game has been a cornerstone of PC gaming
- Players gather resources and craft deadly weapons to war it out
Well, looks as if if Ark: Survival Evolved isn’t the only major open-world crafting and survival game coming to mobile. Let’s just go with multiplayer survival for brevity now, but regardless, yes, Rust is coming to mobile.
For those not familiar, Rust falls a little more on the realistic end of things compared to Ark. Rather than taming and riding dinosaurs, you’re simply pitted against hostile wildlife and other players. Instead of lasers and advanced melee weapons, you’re building assault rifles, rockets and machine guns to dispatch your enemies.
Famous (or infamous) on PC for its months-long clan warfare and constant shootouts, Rust is one of the most demanding if not one of the most popular survival sims out there. It’s hard not to find a modern PC player, streamer or otherwise who hasn’t sunk at least a few dozen hours into Rust.
Early doors
For now, though, all we really have to tell you about Rust on mobile is that it’s coming. I would hazard a guess that we won’t see it arrive in any form until late 2025 at the least. Although more news is available on the official Rust Discord for those who fancy a gander. Either way, the brutal shootouts and long feuds that made Rust so disliked and detested are sure to be well-received on mobile, right?
