“Unless every country takes bolder climate action, the increased effects of climate change will lead to inflation,” Simon Stiell, the Executive Secretary of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), said during a joint press conference on climate, health, and children organized by the World Health Organization (WHO), UNICEF, and Lancet Countdown at COP29, APA reports.
Simon Stiell called for learning from the lessons of the pandemic: “Billions of people suffered and supply chains have broken because we didn’t take collective action fast enough. Let’s not make this mistake again. Climate finance is also an insurance to prevent global inflation.”
