RSA Insurance has rolled out a new Climate Professional Indemnity (PI) insurance product, tailored for companies and consultants that provide guidance on sustainability, net-zero and climate-related strategies.
The newly introduced insurance offering, said to be the “first of its kind”, is a response to the growing demand for expert advice on establishing robust net-zero and sustainability plans, a requirement increasingly emphasised by companies, shareholders and regulatory bodies.
This surge in demand underscores the need for appropriate protection for those offering specialised consultancy services in this field.
Building on the RSA PI product, the Climate PI insurance incorporates additional climate-focused features to address the unique needs of each customer.
It is now accessible to brokers and their clients through RSA’s Regions business.
In addition to the insurance product, customers will gain access to a new section within the RSA Business Support Hub.

RSA Insurance UK Professional Indemnity head Edward Ambrose said: “In this increasingly litigious environment professional indemnity cover is vital for companies and consultants providing advisory services. With climate, sustainability and net-zero considerations growing in importance to all organisations, we believe there is a strong demand and desire for this type of product.
“We are delighted to launch a genuinely one-of-a-kind proposition for an underserved section of the market and play our part in enabling the transition to a low-carbon economy. We have developed a product that understands the demands placed upon climate professionals and offers an unrivalled cover that truly suits their needs.
“We are not stopping here. In a profession that is rapidly changing, we will maintain contact with brokers and clients to ensure the product stays relevant, continues to meet needs and evolves where necessary.”
