Bright Lights Windsor may be in its seventh year, but organizers are keeping it fresh with dazzling new additions.
A 17-foot-tall moose, a Northern Lights igloo, a promotional Transit Windsor bus, and a licensed “chalet” where adults can dine and imbibe are among the winter festival’s latest offerings.
“Bright Lights is an event not to miss,” said Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens on Monday following an announcement at Jackson Park about this year’s version of the popular light show.

“It’s an award-winning event, last year rated one of the best festivals in Ontario. We’re excited to have it back this year. We look forward to welcoming everyone.”
Also new this year are fireworks lights, an interactive ice cube display, an enhanced Santa’s bench, and enhanced holiday train station interior lighting, among other things.
Under the theme A Season to Shine, this year’s event will take visitors through a series of seasonally themed zones: Northern Lights, the enchanted children’s village, wish upon a star, W.E. the North, candy cane lane, merry and bright, Santa’s workshop, winter wonderland, and peace and love around the world.
A holiday-themed Transit Windsor hybrid bus will operate around the city during the festival season, promoting the event.
Opening ceremonies begin at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 29. After that, the event runs every night from 5:30 to 10 p.m. until Jan. 7, 2025.
The W.E. Made It: Holiday Market returns on Fridays and Saturdays with roughly 20 vendors, and a partial market for food and beverages operating during the week.
Sensory-friendly silent nights will be offered on Monday evenings for those with sensory sensitivities. The lights will be on, but sounds will be muted and strobe elements paused.
