A group of distraught Wisconsin women gathered Nov. 9 in Klode Park in Whitefish Bay to film themselves having a “primal scream” session to express their frustration with Trump’s victory in the 2024 presidential election.
The event quickly gained traction on social media and showcased roughly two dozen women screaming in unison in the direction Lake Michigan to vent their anger, according to WFIN.
The footage, originally shared on Facebook, shows the women standing on the shoreline to carry out their primal screams. The user described the gathering in her post. “What a gorgeous morning to gather at Klode Park in Whitefish Bay to engage in a Primal Scream in order to release our pain and frustration after the election,” the user wrote. She noted the presence nearby of who she said were supporters of President-elect Donald Trump. “If you zoom in you will see Trump supporters proudly waving their flag on top of the hill,” the user wrote.
After screaming to their hearts’ content, participants had a discussion on political organizing to help Democrats in future elections. “We need to start organizing … We have the opportunity to, in-state, in two years, take back the legislature,” one of the women said, prompting applause from her companions.
The event was reminiscent of the response to Trump winning his first term in 2016.
Less than 24 hours after Trump was declared the winner of the 2024 election, Democrats and Never-Trumpers took to social media to try launching yet another “resistance” to the president-elect. These included calls for legal action and online organization.
