Heidi Klum has once again found herself at the center of controversy after starring in a lingerie ad alongside her daughter, Leni.
The supermodel, 51, turned off comments on her latest Instagram post after receiving criticism for a video promoting the Italian lingerie brand Intimissimi.
In the video, Heidi and Leni, 20, start in matching red satin loungewear before Heidi flashes her bra, and the duo transitions into showcasing Intimissimi lingerie.
Leni dons a see-through bra while posing for the camera, and the pair embrace on a couch in the ad.
The post sparked outrage online, with many thinking it was strange for a mother and daughter to be promoting intimates together.
Heidi’s decision to block comments is not unusual for the supermodel, who has faced her share of controversy over the years.
Over the past two years, the mother-daughter pair have been criticised for appearing in various Intimissimi campaigns deemed ‘inappropriate’ by some fans.
One campaign in November 2022 was particularly slammed as ‘weird’ and ‘disturbing.’
Earlier this year, Heidi added another family member to the mix: her mother, Erna, 80.
In a more subdued campaign, the trio posed for Intimissimi with their outfits largely covering their lingerie. However, Leni wore a sheer top that revealed her black lace bra.
Heidi’s relationship with Leni’s father, Italian businessman Flavio Briatore, ended before Leni was born.
Seal, whom Heidi married in 2005, adopted Leni when she was five. Together, Heidi and Seal have three biological children: sons Henry, 19, and Johan, 17, as well as daughter Lou, 15.
While Leni follows in her mother’s footsteps in the modeling world, she has faced scrutiny as a ‘nepo baby,’ a term used to describe children of celebrities benefiting from their parents’ fame.
Despite the criticism, she continues to appear in high-profile campaigns, often alongside her mother.
Public reaction to Heidi and Leni’s collaborations has been polarizing. Some fans praise their confidence and the normalization of showcasing different generations in fashion campaigns.
Others, however, argue that posing together in lingerie crosses a line.
